The National Transportation Safety Board is recommending states lower the current blood alcohol-concentration standard of .08 percent by more than one third to .05 percent. This proposal has faced mixed reception from many, including government officials and beverage industry leaders.
WTKR interviewed Peter Decker, III for his opinion on the recommendation. “If even one death, DUI related fatality can be prevented, then it’s worth it,” he said. “But .05 is a very low threshold.”
