The Decker Law Firm Brings Gifts to St. Mary’s Children’s Home
Every year, rather than exchange gifts at the office, the employees of The Decker Law Firm pick a child at St. Mary’s Home for Disabled Children and we purchase their Christmas gifts. This year the firm bought presents for 38 kids.
Pete Decker, III and Bonnie Baker, a member of the Decker staff, delivered the gifts yesterday.
During yesterday’s visit, St. Mary’s presented Pete III with framed photographs of his father and Danny Thomas at a visit to St Mary’s many years ago.
Aidan and several St. Mary’s staff members were on hand to greet Peter Decker III, fourth from left, and Bonnie Baker, fifth from left, also of The Decker Law Firm, as they delivered presents.
The presents donated by employees of The Decker Law Firm look beautiful under the tree in St. Mary’s front lobby.
Aidan and friends showed Peter Decker III how to make “smash art” — naturally, by drizzling paint between two pieces of paper, then smashing the pages together.
Voila! Aidan’s finished smash art, in holiday colors.

This is one of the photos presented to Pete III. When comedian Danny Thomas, founder of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, visited St. Mary’s Home in 1964, Peter Decker Jr., second from left, was with him. Peter Decker Jr. headed up fundraising in Tidewater for St. Jude’s.
