In honor of National Tourism Week, Norfolk Tourism Research Foundation and VisitNorfolk recognized top hospitality workers at the award winning Champions of Hospitality Rally on May 6th at the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center.
Workers from restaurants, hotels and other service industries participated in the carnival and pep rally that was full of food, games, and dancing.
Pete Decker, III, Paul Decker (who was certainly dressed for the occasion), and Phillip Decker were there to award the Peter G. Decker, Jr. Hospitality Associate of the Year. The award went to Phyllis Washington of the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. Phyllis joins an elite group of Norfolk hospitality professionals who have received the Peter G. Decker Hospitality Associate of the Year award since the very first “Champions of Hospitality” event in 2002.
